Magical Beat Sculpture Trail | Maidstone, Kent

This project involved the creation of a new, one-mile long themed trail designed to guide visitors and residents from the town centre to the local entertainment centre. The trail’s starting point is marked by ‘Iggy,’ a full-size Iguanodon sculpture created by Thrussells in 2021, and continues the theme with six smaller, life-size ‘beasts,’ which include a two baby Iguanodon, two baby elephants, and two gremlins.

Each of these figures, known as the ‘beasts,’ was selected to link directly with the town’s history and local events. For durability and a cohesive aesthetic, every sculpture was fabricated from galvanised steel and is displayed on a matching galvanised plinth.

To enhance the user experience, each piece includes a QR code that connects to the town museum, providing relevant historical information about the subjects. Thrussells designed and created the trail in close collaboration with the Museum and Arts Officer, Ann-Marie Langley of MBC.
