Bodmin Heritage Trail

The Bodmin Heritage Trail is now fully installed and ready for discovery throughout the town centre. This immersive trail features a series of waymarkers, benches, and unique sculptural landmarks, each adorned with intricate copper repoussé reliefs. These hand-crafted images bring Bodmin’s storied past to life, while integrated finger-posts offer a helping hand, guiding visitors on a seamless journey through our historic streets.

Time and Place: A Gateway to Bodmin’s Past
“Time and Place,” our new heritage landmark, invites locals and visitors alike to pause and immerse themselves in Bodmin’s storied past. Positioned as a gateway to the heart of the town, the sculptural sign encourages a journey of discovery along Fore Street and into the town centre.

The design features twelve distinct symbols arranged like the face of a clock—a proud nod to Bodmin’s historic clock-making industry. Each “hour” represents a cornerstone of our heritage: Religion, Transport, Justice, and Security; Festivals, Trade, Farming, and Archaeology; the rugged Bodmin Moor Landscape, Leisure, Health, and Education. Together, they tell the story of the people and industries that shaped the Bodmin we know today.
